Frequently asked questions
Do you demo?
We do not handle any demo work. Demolition is tedious and not as easy as it appears.
Do I have to paint over a drywall repair, or can I leave it as is?
Technically, you don’t have to—but just know it might be obvious, especially on ceilings. All of our drywall and plaster repairs dry white, but the patched area will reflect light differently than the rest of the surface. A lot of customers leave small patches unpainted, and that’s totally fine—but in areas like kitchens or bathrooms, unpainted areas can attract moisture over time. If you want it to really disappear, a little primer and paint goes a long way. Plus, it helps protect the surface underneath.
Do I really need primer on fresh sheetrock?
Absolutely. Primer seals the surface, evens out the finish, and helps paint adhere better. Skip it, and you’ll likely get flashing—ugly shiny spots where the paint soaks in unevenly. Primers is recommended on all drywall repairs too.
Do you offer a military discount?
First, thank you for serving your country. Yes, we offer a 5% military discount for active-duty members.
Do you handle exterior stucco?
No, we do not handle exterior anything. We are interior plaster and drywall (sheetrock) specialist only.
Why can’t you accept my job?
It’s nothing personal. There are many reasons why we may not be able to accommodate you. Some reasons could be due to: too large a size or hazard issues. Maybe we’re backed up and can’t honor the time-frame you’re hoping for. Although we do our best to accommodate and squeeze people in, sometimes it’s just not possible; especially if we know you don’t have time to wait. Parking, location, and other issues could play a role as well.
Why haven’t I heard back?
We do our very best to maintain accurate information and records of phone calls, emails and messaging. However, sometimes things get lost in the mix. Often, our emails end up in your spam or trash folders which many people never check. Though rare, we’ll sometimes take your information down incorrectly, especially if your phone is having horrible reception or clarity issues. Many people don’t check their voicemails or their mailbox is full. Then there are times we don’t receive the information we requested. There are so many reasons, but one thing is for sure: we always make an attempt to get back and we encourage you to get in touch with us again if you haven’t heard from us.
What about insulation?
For both small and large repairs, we will install insulation as no additional cost. Insulation supplied must be solid-batt, not blown in or loose. We don’t replace blown or loose insulation. Unless otherwise specified, customer is responsible for providing insulation and having it on site at time of arrival.
For larger projects, insulation must be handled by an insulation company.
Do you hang or remove drop ceilings?
We don’t install drop (acoustic) ceilings nor do we replace acoustical tiles. We can not remove your drop ceiling. Demo work must be completed by a third-party or homeowner.
Do I have to be home?
No. Jobs can be started and finished without someone having to be there. It’s your choice if you want to leave a key, code, or meet us then leave. We can lock up on the way out. For all our pet lovers, we can even let your pets out their cages or back inside so you don’t have to!
What forms of payment do you accept?
All major credit cards, cash, or check. Payment will be due same day, upon competition of job
What about painting?
Except for special circumstances, we do not paint. Sometimes, paint can be added to the finish, but this is not always the case. All repairs are left ready to paint.
Who is showing up at my door?
Jake and his son are the only people who will ever show up at your doorstep. And, there’s no waiting all day for someone to show up. Time frames given are strictly adhered to. You are always updated and kept in the loop
Will there be any mess?
Any time major ceiling or wall work is being done in your home, there will always be the potential for some mess. It can’t be eliminated completely. However, great care is taken to ensure it’s as limited and contained as possible. We protect flooring, furniture and surroundings. All job sites are cleaned upon competition; often times cleaner than before we arrived!
